Central Sunbelt reaches goal of $5000 for Extra Table!
In October 2018, Central Sunbelt partnered with Extra Table in the cooperative spirit of helping those in need throughout Mississippi.
Who is Extra Table?
Extra Table is a non-profit organization based out of Hattiesburg, MS. In 2017, Extra Table was able to provide 130 tons of healthy food to food
pantries and soup kitchens across 29 counties in Mississippi. 100% of funds donated to Extra Table goes to the purchase of food! Learn more about them at www.extratable.org.
How YOU Made An Impact
Central Sunbelt created a survey asking the community what it is they love about a credit union. For each submission received, Central Sunbelt donated $1.00 to Extra Table and allowed the community to tell us which county they wanted to designate their $1.00 donation. Residents from across Mississippi voiced their opinion and helped reach the goal of $5000!

How we celebrated and spread the word:
T-Shirts
Central Sunbelt designed t-shirts to sell to the public. All proceeds were donated to Extra Table.
Random Acts of Kindness
Throughout the week of International Credit Union Day, Central Sunbelt ventured out to each community with a local branch. Central Sunbelt handed out gift certificates and gift cards for a free lunch at a local restaurant. On Facebook, hints were posted where you would be able to find a Central Sunbelt employee to get a free lunch. In Laurel, Central Sunbelt gave out 50 free lunches to Little Caesars. In McComb, Central Sunbelt provided free lunch to 16 people at The Dinner Bell. Our Hattiesburg branches passed out 16 free lunches to Ed's Burger Joint. On Internatinal Credit Union Day, 22 free lunches were provided to those in Petal at Lake Serene Grocery. 25 lunches were given to our Waynesboro community at Robinson Street Cafe and 34 Subway lunches were donated to our Magee community. Central Sunbelt had a great time passing out lunches and waiting to see who could find us! Each free lunch was an opportunity to continue to spread the word on how we can help provide food to someone in need.
