Celebrating International Credit Union Day

Laurel, MS – Central Sunbelt FCU will celebrate International Credit Union Day taking place on October 18,2018.
Being a not-for-profit financial cooperative, Central Sunbelt was built upon the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people’. Central Sunbelt’s focus is not only to provide
the tools to be financially successful in life, but strive to make a positive impact in the communities it serves. To help continue this goal, Central Sunbelt is partnering with Extra Table in celebration of International Credit Union Day throughout October, 2018.
Extra Table, a Hattiesburg based non-profit, whose mission is ‘neighbors feeding neighbors’ goes hand-in-hand with the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people’. In 2017, Extra Table’s impact exceeded 130 tons of food, delivered to over 29 counties in partnership with food pantries throughout Mississippi. 100% of donations received goes to those in need within your local community. Together, Central Sunbelt and Extra Table will provide opportunities to help those around you.
Beginning on October 6th through International Credit Union Day on October 18th, Central Sunbelt is asking ‘What do you love about your credit union?’. With each response, Central Sunbelt will donate $1.00 to Extra Table benefiting the community of your choice, up to our goal of $5,000. Anyone can participate by submitting a response online at www.sunbeltfcu.org/care. Central Sunbelt aims to make an impact affecting an astounding 679,000 Mississippians in need; of which 28% are children going to bed hungry each night.
Central Sunbelt will kick off this celebration at the Loblolly Festival in Laurel on October 6th. Visit the Central Sunbelt tent on Central Ave in Laurel between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm to learn more about Extra Table, answer what you love about credit unions, and purchase a T-Shirt to fight the battle of hunger throughout Jones County.

Representatives from Central Sunbelt will visit businesses near its nine branches performing random acts of kindness.
